Deluxe Facial + Microdermabrasion: First 48-Hour Care Plan

By Contornos Studio | November 3, 2026

Quick note: This is aftercare for my Deluxe Facial + Microdermabrasion (60 minutes, $120). If you also booked brow work, lash extensions, or you were searching for brows near me or lash lift near me, I’ll keep this facial plan separate so it’s easy to follow.

Deluxe Facial + Microdermabrasion aftercare plan for the first 48 hours in Cooper City FL

The most important rule in the first 48 hours after a Deluxe Facial + Microdermabrasion is simple: protect your skin like it’s freshly polished, meaning no direct sun, no heat, no sweat, and no active ingredients. I hear it a lot at Contornos Studio in Cooper City, people love how professional and caring the experience feels. The way you treat your skin right after the facial is what keeps that bright, smooth look from fading into irritation.

The first 24 to 48 hours: do less, protect more

Microdermabrasion is an exfoliation service. It’s meant to brighten skin, but it also leaves you more sensitive for a short window. In South Florida, that matters because our UV is strong year-round, even when it doesn’t feel “that sunny.”

48-hour rule of thumb: gentle cleanse, hydrate, and wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+. Skip heat, sweat, sun, makeup, and actives.

What I want you to do tonight

  • Wash with a gentle cleanser and cool to lukewarm water. No scrubs, no cleansing brushes.
  • Apply a simple moisturizer. If you have a hydrating serum like hyaluronic acid, that’s usually fine.
  • If you feel warm or pink, use a cool compress for a few minutes. Don’t ice directly.

What I want you to avoid for 24 to 48 hours

  • Sweating and heavy exercise. Heat and sweat can keep redness around longer and raise the risk of irritation.
  • Hot showers, saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms. Keep showers comfortably warm, not hot.
  • Makeup for at least 24 hours. Your skin needs a clean, breathable reset.
  • Actives like retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, and strong vitamin C. Your skin is already exfoliated. Don’t double down.

Days 3 to 7: the “don’t undo it” week (especially in Cooper City sun)

Most people are back to normal fast, but the first week is where you keep that glow. If you’re running errands, doing school drop-offs, or commuting through the Stirling Road corridor in southwest Cooper City near the Flamingo Road intersection, it’s easy to get accidental sun. Treat your SPF like part of getting dressed.

Sun: Wear mineral SPF 30+ every morning and reapply if you’re outside. Shade and a hat help a lot, even in October.

Skin picking: Don’t pick at dry patches. If you get a little flake, it’s usually just your skin turning over. Moisturize instead.

Products: Hold retinoids and acids for 3 to 7 days, depending on how sensitive you feel. If you’re still pink or tight, wait longer.

A lot of my facial regulars come in because they’ve struggled with uneven tone and acne scarring. Consistency helps, but so does respecting the recovery window between services. The routine I like after microdermabrasion with dermaplaning-style smoothness

People often describe this combo effect as microdermabrasion dermaplaning, because the finish looks extra smooth and bright. Even if you didn’t add an actual dermaplaning service, the aftercare mindset is the same. Keep your routine simple so your skin stays calm.

Morning (first week)

  • Gentle cleanser
  • Hydrating serum (hyaluronic acid is usually a safe bet)
  • Moisturizer
  • Broad-spectrum mineral SPF 30+ and reapply if you’re in the car a lot

Night (first 3 to 7 nights)

  • Gentle cleanse
  • Moisturizer, and apply a little extra if you feel tight
  • Skip retinoids, exfoliating acids, and strong vitamin C until your skin feels fully normal

Makeup tip: When you go back to makeup after 24 hours, keep it light. I prefer non-comedogenic, mineral-based options and a clean brush or sponge.

When to reach out to me at Contornos Studio (and what’s normal)

A little redness, warmth, or mild tightness is common after microdermabrasion. It usually settles quickly, often within a day. But I never want you guessing. People come back to me for years because they know they’ll be cared for in a clean, calming space, and I take that same approach with aftercare questions.

Reach out right away if you have severe pain, blistering, spreading redness, pus, fever, or anything that looks like an infection.
